Crime figures

Between the 12th July and 14th October 2011, 5 crimes were recorded in Spofforth with 2 detections reports PC Mark Ayres.

There was an attempted house burglary in Spofforth for which a couple from South Yorkshire were arrested but there was insufficient evidence to charge them for the crime.  PC Ayres reminds everyone that darker and longer nights historically leads to an increase in crime, a favoured offence being the tea time burglary whilst parents are out collecting their children so please remain vigilant.

If you see anything suspicious please contact the Police on 0845 6060247 or 999 if an emergency.  PC Ayres can be also be reached via email on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Spofforth School News

On your bike! In October children from Year Six took part in 'Bikeability' cycle training.  The children received two days of tuition both in school and around the village.  As well as the practical lessons they had to complete theory on the highway code.  They learnt valuable lessons about how to care for their bikes and stay safe on the road.  Well done to all the children who took part!

Ambassadors - we are pleased to introduce our three school ambassadors for the year - Holly Roberts, Louie Greer and Joe Johnson.  The three will represent our school at meetings with other schools as well as undertake work with pupils from our own school on school improvements.

A date for your diaries - Friday 9th December 'Carols at the Castle Ruins'.  2.15pm and everyone is welcome!
