SPOFFORTH’S first-ever beer festival has been hailed a resounding success - exceeding all expectations.
Villagers were treated to a range of beers, ciders and wines - with pie ‘n’ peas and sandwiches available for those who got peckish. The crowds were also treated to a performance from the local band 'Crimple Stompers', who formed especially for the festival.
Organiser Robyn Farmer said: “It was a fantastic day, everything we could have hoped for. More so, infact,” “Everybody seemed to really enjoy themselves. There was a great atmosphere and the band went down a storm.”
The beer festival raised around £2000 to support Village Society events and a new kitchen area in the Church.
